SUN Architecture is an Amsterdam-based publishing house and a subsidiary of Boom publishers, Amsterdam . SUN Architecture is an internationally oriented Dutch publisher specializing in architecture, urban construction, landscape design, and art and design.
Tradition and future
SUN has a long tradition of translating theoretical titles of international standing, overviews and other outstanding publications in collaboration with the Technical University of Delft. Since 2008, SUN has focused, both nationally and internationally, on architectural monographs, essays and short texts on aspects of architecture and architectural theory, and on exhibition catalogues.

Architectural environment
SUN architecture is interested in all the forms, theoretical starting points, and styles used in design and in our architectural environment. The collaboration with and between writers, graphic designers, photographers, editors, translators and commissioners is central to our approach.
Publisher Martien de Vletter
Since 1 March 2008, Martien de Vletter has been editor in chief at SUN Architecture. Martien de Vletter worked at the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) in Rotterdam for ten years, for the past five as Chief Curator. At the NAI her work included responsibility for exhibitions about and with UN Studio and Asymptote, about Dutch architecture in the nineteen seventies, about the 100 year history of the institution of ‘Rijksbouwmeester' (chief government architect), and about architecture in the Dutch East Indies. She has written a number of books on topics including Indonesia and architecture in the nineteen seventies.
